Lots of Music News and a Smoking Toddler! WTF
Posted on June 17, 2011 with 2 commentsAin't that some crazy shit? I don't understand why a 2-year old needs therapy treatment to quit smoking. I mean, just take them away. He'll have a temper tantrum... kinda like a 2-year old. (That's basically my therapy; I give my cigarettes to my dad, my girlfriend, and a guy at Doo Wop, and that way I have to ask someone each time I want to smoke. Keeps me from smoking in the mornings and in my car, which evidently is where I did most of my puffing. I'm down to 2-5 per day, from 20-25. I don't like it but I know it's better for me.)
So check THIS out, three of my students are heading to Nashville on July 2nd for the Nashville Spotlight showcase, which is run by Mike Jennings.
Slade, Katie and Taylor are all spectacular young talents. Here's a few links for you to check out so you can get to know them!

I'm really excited for each of them to get this opportunity, which will be recorded and broadcast locally in Nashville, as well as the website. I've got Nashville calling my name from so many directions it's ridiculous. I'm going to end up travelling there soon, guaranteed. It's pretty cool being 3 hours from the music mecca of the world. Huge opportunities like this one for Lexington musicians.
New segment I'm starting to promote local and regional artists. Presumptuous to think my pithy little blog can help people out? Perhaps. But maybe one day, when wild stardom and fame are mine... muahahahahaha....
Anyway, here is local artist Numero Uno, hailing from Berea, KY.
I was introduced to Kristi's music by extraordinary bass man, Michael Heathman. If you are a fan of country music, you should definitely check Kristi out.
You can find her information and music on her website, as well as her MySpace Page. Enjoy!!
If you are (or know of) a local or regional musician/artist and would like to be featured on the Mokracy Blog, please contact me (paul@mokracy.com) and send me a link to your stuff!
I sure hope I start getting really busy, really soon. Part of moving on after a tragic loss is having something else to focus on and move forward with. Things are starting to gain momentum; I'm just waiting to see which one really explodes. There are several opportunities with writing, performance, and teaching, all kind of starting to simmer. I'm somewhere between optimistic, anxious, and impatient.

BAAAHAHAHAHahaHAhAHAHAH!!!
This is OLD SCHOOL YouTube hilarity, but it makes me laugh every time. Thought I would share it just in case there are people out there who have been denied one of the funniest things the Internet has ever brought to us.
And of course the inevitable remixes...
