Mokracy: World Famous Blog!

A Metric Eff-Ton of WTF

Posted on July 8, 2010 with 0 comments
I feel like the laziest blogger that ever lived. Heck, I feel like the laziest dude in general. I can't remember what the gym looks like. So pitiful. I just don't want to go every single day during the week, but I can't get everything done in three trips with my kids' schedule during the summer.

*sigh*

Plus I'm whining like a little poof.

On the bright side I'm really jazzed about how things are going with Mokracy. The gigs are booking up well and I'm still able to write and record some new stuff every so often. Clearly I'd like that to be more often than not, but I'll take it.

But I'm listening to the sound clips from the RJ Corman show and I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with how it sounds. And from the stage, it did NOT sound that good. I still think I could benefit from a vocal processor, though. I'm gonna take back this wah pedal I rented from Doo Wop and get one of those instead. Really need to do that today, actually.

So while we're here, lemme tell you a little something about a little sweetener called Apriva. It's Kroger brand Splenda. And it is the good. That is all.

Why is it that what you want is so often pitted against what you need? I don't understand how the world ends up being set up that way. It starts when you're a kid; why are we programmed to WANT the candy when we NEED the vegetables? Is everyone like that? Because it seems like there are some lucky people out there who really enjoy living their lives according to needs and I really think that's unfair.

Well okay, that's not really "unfair" in respect to many other true injustices in life, but I'm just saying that it definitely incites rabid jealousy, at least on my part. My question is, are these people just fortunate, or did they make a conscientious choice? We'd all like to believe they chose it because that makes it a possibility for the rest of us (or maybe I'm wrong, maybe most people want to believe it's luck so they don't have to shoulder the responsibility of making the decision!)

Hell, the part in parentheses there is the crux, I think. I wonder where I fall in that category. I mean I am the one asking the question so clearly I don't know, but I'm still curious.

Crux? Who the hell says that?

crux
   /krʌks/ [kruhks]
–noun, plural crux·es, cru·ces  /ˈkrusiz/ [kroo-seez]
1.
a vital, basic, decisive, or pivotal point: The crux of the trial was his whereabouts at the time of the murder.
2.
a cross.
3.
something that torments by its puzzling nature; a perplexing difficulty.

I'll be damned, I used it correctly.

Anyhow, time to cart the preteen off to her swim team practice.

And... WE'RE OFF!!
